HBO Max has officially extended its partnership with A24, the acclaimed independent film studio, solidifying their collaboration to deliver a range of unique films exclusively to HBO and HBO Max within the Pay-1 television window in the United States.
This new multiyear agreement promises that subscribers to HBO Max will gain access to an exciting lineup of A24 movies as they become available for streaming. Notable upcoming releases include "Marty Supreme," featuring the talented Timothée Chalamet, and "The Moment," starring the pop sensation Charli XCX. Furthermore, this deal ensures viewers will also have the opportunity to explore a rich library filled with numerous A24 titles from past years.
The initial licensing arrangement between Warner Bros. Discovery and A24 was first established in December 2023, following the expiration of A24’s prior output deal with Showtime. According to reports from Warner Bros. Discovery, a remarkable achievement was noted when half of A24’s Pay-1 titles found their way into HBO Max’s top 10 movies within just two weeks of their release on the platform in 2025. Additionally, a staggering 70% of HBO Max users who watched an A24 film returned to view more, averaging about four films from the studio.
Royce Battleman, the executive vice president of global content acquisitions at Warner Bros. Discovery, praised the collaboration, stating, "A24 has been an incredible partner, bringing a slate of talented creative voices and an engaged audience base to the platform. Their bold storytelling perfectly complements the distinct programming offered on HBO Max."
